Take the measurement in a quiet place. You should be seated in a relaxed position. Avoid smoking, eating, taking medication, consuming alcohol, engaging in physical activity or taking a bath 30 minutes before a measurement. If you show signs of stress, postpone the measurement until the signs have disappeared. Remove any clothing from your wrist to allow the cuff to fit directly on the skin. Keep a stable posture throughout the measurement to ensure accurate results. Remain calm and do not talk during the measurement.

Wrap the pre-formed bracelet around your wrist and fold back the hook-and-loop fastener for optimum support. Sit on a chair, feet flat on the floor, palm facing up. Make sure you’re in the position shown below to start the measurement: legs uncrossed, back and arm supported, the middle of the cuff level with the right atrium of the heart and remain motionless in this position until the measurement is complete.

This symbol appears together with the readings when an irregular rhythm is detected twice or more during a measurement.

An irregular heartbeat is defined as a rhythm that is 25% lower or higher than the average rhythm detected while your blood pressure monitor is measuring blood pressure. If it continues to occur, we recommend that you consult your doctor and follow his or her instructions. Please note that irregular rhythms can affect blood pressure and heart rate readings. Do not hesitate to take another measurement to ensure that the detection is not influenced by movement. If this symbol appears frequently, we advise you to consult your doctor. This device does not replace a cardiac examination but serves to detect irregularities in heart rhythm.

Yes, our Tensioflash has been clinically validated according to the same criteria as an upper arm blood pressure monitor. The results fall within the acceptance range defined by the internationally recognized standard for the evaluation of blood pressure monitors EN ISO 81060-2:2019+A1:2020, developed by the British Hypertension Society and The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI).

Validation of automatic sphygmomanometers to ISO 81060-2 consists of clinical tests on a minimum of 85 subjects, with a balanced distribution in terms of sex and age. Each subject must undergo at least three pairs of valid measurements, taken with a manual sphygmomanometer in double-auditor mode to guarantee accuracy. In total, at least 255 measurements are required to compare the results of the sphygmomanometer tested with the reference method.

The ISO 81060-2 acceptance criteria for the validation of automatic blood pressure monitors require that the mean error between the monitor’s measurements and those of the reference method should not exceed ± 5 mmHg for systolic and diastolic pressures. In addition, the standard deviation of the differences between the tensiometer’s measurements and those of the reference method must be less than approximately 8 mmHg, to guarantee the consistency and accuracy of results. These criteria ensure that tensiometers provide reliable, consistent measurements for both clinical and home use.
